Dr Matias Yudi

Interventional & Structural Cardiologist

Dr Matias Yudi is a Structural and Interventional Cardiologist at Austin Health, Epworth Richmond and Warringal Private Hospital.

Matias became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2014. Following this, he underwent two years of subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology at Austin Health prior to travelling to New York City to complete a Fellowship in Structural Heart Disease Intervention at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital. Upon his return to Australia he has been appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Austin Health and is the Director of Structural Heart Intervention.

Matias is passionate about medical research and academia. He has published extensively, and his manuscripts have been featured in some of the world’s top cardiology journals. He was awarded scholarships from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and National Heart Foundation to undertake his PhD on “Optimising Clinical Outcomes in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes” through the University of Melbourne, which he completed in 2019.

With his extensive clinical training and strong academic record, Matias brings cutting-edge technology and up-to-date medical knowledge to his patients to ensure they receive the best possible care.

Dr Alexandra Murphy

Cardiologist & Cardio-Oncologist

Dr Alexandra Murphy graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medical Science. She entered the Cardiology Advanced Training program at the Austin Hospital following which she became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Alex has completed advanced fellowships in cardiac imaging, and imaging for structural intervention and currently practices at Austin Health, Warringal Private Hospital and Epworth Richmond.

Dr Murphy also specialises in the cardiac management of patients with cancer and is the lead physician in the newly founded Cardio-Haematology clinic at the Austin Hospital. She is a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne and her PhD thesis “Optimising Cardiovascular Outcomes in Patients with Cancer” is supported by scholarships from the National Heart Foundation, National Health and Medical Research Council, the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and Meadownick Research Foundation.

Dr Murphy has recently been awarded a Fulbright Future Scholarship and will continue her Doctoral studies at Mount Sinai Medical Centre in New York City in 2022. 

Dr David Tsang Cardiologist

Cardiologist

Dr David Tsang graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School with honours. He completed his post-graduate internal medicine and cardiology specialist training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Western Health. He subsequently obtained a Master of Public Health at the University of Sydney with high distinction. He also completed a fellowship in cardiac imaging. His interests include social determinants of health, risk factor management and echocardiography.

He is a consultant cardiologist at Western Health. He holds an appointment with the University of Melbourne Medical School. He is an Educational Supervisor and Clinical Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the national organisation responsible for training medical specialists. He is currently the Deputy Director of Physician Education and Training at Western Health.

Dr Anoop Koshy

Interventional Cardiologist

Dr Anoop Koshy is an Interventional, Structural and General Cardiologist based at Warringal Hospital, The Austin Hospital and Royal Melbourne Hospital. After completing his training in General Cardiology training at Eastern Health and Monash Heart in 2017, he undertook four years of advanced sub-specialisation in Interventional and Structural Heart Interventions at Austin Health and at the prestigious Mount Sinai Medical Centre in New York.

Dr Koshy's clinical focus includes general and interventional cardiology, such as chest pain assessment, arrhythmias, coronary angioplasty, coronary calcium modification, and intravascular imaging. Additionally, Anoop also specialises in management of patients with aortic stenosis using keyhole Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge-Repair for mitral regurgitation using MitraClip and patent foramen ovale closure, with extensive experience.

Dr Koshy is the Head of Cardiac Services for the Victorian Liver Transplant Unit at Austin Health, and is a dedicated medical researcher with over 100 publications in some of the world's top cardiology journals and book chapters in coronary and structural heart disease. He prioritises personalised patient care, ensuring patients and their families feel heard, valued, and receive compassionate attention.

Dr Ai Vee NG

Cardiologist

Dr Ai Vee NG is a cardiologist with expertise in all areas of echocardiography and general cardiology. She completed a cardiac imaging fellowship at Royal Melbourne Hospital, specialising in stress, transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography. Dr Ai Vee has a special interest in cardiac imaging, especially echocardiography and clinical research.

She has a background in non-invasive imaging, particularly echocardiography and has recently completed an Echo Research Fellowship in the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Unit at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She has previously completed General Echocardiography Fellowships at the National Heart Centre in 2011 and Royal Melboune Hospital in 2012. Dr Ng’s Advanced training in Cardiology was completed at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Adelaide and Basic Physician training at the Queen Elizabeth and Royal Adelaide Hospitals.

Candice Canon Nurse

Structural Heart Nurse

Candice is a cardiac specialty trained nurse with many years experience, and has also previously worked in the oncology clinical field. She has completed both her Postgraduate Critical Care Certificate & Master of Nursing Practice.

Along with working at MCS as a Cardiac Clinic Nurse, she is also an Associate Nurse Unit Manager of a busy metropolitan Melbourne hospital cardiology ward & coronary care unit.

Melissa

Critical Care Registered Nurse

Melissa has over 25 years nursing experience, with an illustrious career performing multiple nursing and management roles. She is the Structural Heart Coordinator at Austin Health, and has worked both in the intensive care specialty and cardiology.

Tash

Critical Care Registered Nurse

Tash is a critical care nurse who has specialised in cardiology. She works as a CCRN at a large Melbourne hospital.

Tess

Critical Care Registered Nurse

Tess is a cardiology specialty trained critical care nurse, who along with working as a Cardiac Clinic Nurse at MCS, is also a Clinical Nurse Specialist at a busy Melbourne hospital. She is dedicated to the cardiac specialty, and is currently undertaking further postgraduate studies.
